For sale in our upcoming auction on September 16th at the Montreux Palace, exhibition on the Montreux Palace garden, from September 13 to 16. The proposed model is an exceptional Bentley Derby 3 liters 1/2, carrying the B85 AE frame number. Its design is quite unique.
The frame B85 AE was delivered at Park Ward in 1933, and acquired by its first owner on Marth 2, 1934. One year later, due to the death of the first owner, the second buyer bought the vehicle, very briefly, because the third owner, who kept it until 1957, acquired it in 1937. This third owner totally transformed its frame, sending it to the Salmons and Sounds workshops? : The body Park Ward is removed from the vehicle, for the benefit of a body Drop-Head " 3 positions ". This body will be the unique copy produced by studios Salmons and sounds, which received and produced only 6 frames of Bentley 3 1/2 liters. In 1955, this unique Derby find itself with a new owner until 1984. From 1984 to 2013, our Bentley Derby has knoy a fifth owner, before being acquired by its current collector. The latter, registered it in 2013 for Thousand Miglia, which the vehicle ended brilliantly, in 330th position, in the category " Special List ".
The simple fact of ending this test of endurance proves of the quality of maintenance and the reliability of this car, which is in an exceptional condition, classified B3 by the International Federation of the Old Vehicles. A very important record of follow-up accompanies the frame B-85-AE, redrawing the whole life of the vehicle, since the work made in 1933 at Park Ward.
This vehicle appears in a condition of irreproachable preservation, raising a magnificent patina and the largest part of elements of which is totally of origin. It has moreover always its tools of origin, placed in the special compartments of the back suitcase as well as diverse tools hanging on directly at the bay engine. The seats present leathers to the very pleasant patina and carpets are also of origin. The current owner drives this car as often as possible, and runs on beautiful distance with, guaranteeing a preservation of the mechanics.
It is not here a stored vehicle and a type car-show, but a model used regularly, maintained with love and the exemplary preservation without restoration.
