Beschreibung

Great 1936 Bentley Derby 4.25 litre Park Ward Sports Saloon.

The time has come to say goodbye to our dear companion. A great pre-war automobile that has taken us on numerous trips, meetings and other adventures.
Comfortable, reliable, in all weather conditions and always with a smile on our faces. In order to finance our next pre-war project, this beautiful Bentley is now looking for its next enthousiast custodian.

This stylish Bentley was delivered new with the handsome Park Ward Sports Saloon coachwork that it still retains to this day. A great long distance travel companion with enormous low-end pulling power, easy to operate gearbox, solid and precise handling and relaxed to cruise at normal highway speeds: the perfect car for weekend trips, overseas holidays and all sorts of pre-war motoring events and rallies.

Copies of the factory production card show this Bentley was ordered on the 22nd of April 1936 through Jack Barclay by its first owner E. E. Taylor, Sutton UK.
The original colour combination was dark green paint with a green leather interior. Factory fitted options were an outside filler to the petrol tank, horns mounted under the apron and a Bentley mascot.
In 1938 the car was acquired by the Andersen family from London, in 1955 by Major George R. C. Couper from Torrington, in 1957 by C. H. Clark from Walton-on-Thames and in 1980 by Dick Turner from Green Cove Springs, Florida USA.
In 2007 it was up for sale by the Real Car Co in the UK. The UK registration was CYX 431.

In 2008 the car was purchased by its previous long term owner in The Netherlands.
During his ownership the car received the desirable aluminium cilinder head conversion and uprated and strengthened high ratio final drive for comfortable and relaxed highway cruising.

This Bentley still retains its original engine and body and has been extensively serviced and maintained by its previous owners. Now on Dutch EU registration, comes with a copy of its original factory production, service and delivery records and a history file.

Private sale.
