Beschreibung
"Because of Herbert Austin’s approach to construction, there is no such thing as a standard Austin 7 as, from 1923, they were built in large numbers and in many different body styles. It is not surprising that they were often also raced at both circuit and trials. From that day to this, they are still widely enjoyed both as standard and in modified form, as this charming example represents. Nicknamed the Baby Austin, the Austin 7 was manufactured between 1922 and 1939. Herbert Austin’s concept was to provide a small car that would meet the needs of aspiring families to own an affordable motor car. It was one of the most popular models produced for the British market and also sold well abroad. When production ceased in 1939, 290,000 cars and vans had been produced.
This delightful Austin 7 has been in our vendor’s tenure for the last eight years. During which time he has only driven 200 miles. This Austin has always been garaged and has obviously been well looked after. This is borne out by the file of receipts present and we are informed that £1,000 was recently spent on general maintenance. We are informed that this Austin starts and runs well and that the headlining, prop shaft joints and rewiring have been replaced. It has certainly stood the test of time well and would make a fantastic entry into pre-war motoring.
