Beschreibung

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Originally from sunny California, the car almost didn’t have any rust upon entering the Netherlands, it was repainted here and was restored in the past.

The paint is still in a mint condition and without scratches or dents. The condition of the engine, gearbox and rear axle of the car is good, it runs and drives as it should. No
electrical malfunctions. Like any English classic car, this Austin is not entirely free of oil “sweating”. Has a Dutch classic car registration. The car is entirely standard, like it ever came from the factory.

They elaborated on the success of the Austin Seven during the production and the goal was to make this car affordable for ordinary people’s budget. In 1958, the Austin Healey Sprite MkI was marketed by manufacturer British Motor Corporation (BMC). In order to reduce the costs as much as possible, a previously existing slightly improved engine from the Austin "A" series was used as a power source for this car.

The Sprite was originally designed by manufacturers of the Donald Healey Motor Company who, however, resold the rights to BMC.
Due to its distinctive look with upright convex headlights, the Austin Healey Sprite got the nicknames Frogeye or Bugeye. They actually wanted the model to have folding headlights but due to the extra production costs, they cancelled that and secured the headlights, thereby giving the car its own identity.

It is recommended to view the vehicle prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.

The car can be viewed in Leek, the Netherlands
