--Blue metallic, Blue leather interior with Grey piping, Blue carpeting, Blue convertible top, Matching Numbers, 2.6 Liter inline 4-cylinder engine, 4-speed manual gearbox with optional overdrive, 68,000 miles from new, Recent documented concours rotisserie restoration, Austin Healey registry Gold level certification, BMIHT Certificate, Immaculate in every way.

The Austin-Healey 100-4 BN1 roadster was introduced at the Earl’s Court – London Motor Show and was a huge success. Austin introduced a new Healey, known as the BN2, for 1955. This car featured a four-speed transmission with an optional overdrive among other improvements over the early model.

This Healey was produced on August 26, 1955 and sold to its first owner in California through Healey dealer, Hambro Trading, Inc. of San Francisco. While earlier history is unknown, it was purchased by its most recent collector owner in 2012. Upon purchase, this Healey was the recipient of a complete, photo documented, rotisserie concours restoration. No stone was left unturned, it was a no expense restoration to bring to its current exceptional concours winning condition and worth of Healey Registry Gold standard.

Retaining its original matching numbers engine and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, all was subsequently completely rebuilt during the restoration. The rebuilt engine was balanced and fitted with hardened valve seats and bronze guides, and the camshaft was hardened and re-ground to 100M spec by Elgin Cams in California. The transmission and overdrive were rebuilt by British specialists Quantum Mechanics in Oxford, Connecticut and the twin SU carbs were rebuilt by Joe Curto in College Point, New York.

The interior was retrimmed in its original Blue leather with all correct materials. The original Smiths gauges were restored while keeping its original mileage. All original brightwork was re-plated, and only restored original or NOS components were used throughout. A new Blue soft top was installed using all original snaps and re-chromed latches. Also included is a new tonneau fabricated using a correct NOS zipper and the original snaps. Girling drum brakes are equipped at all corners and all new stainless-steel lines were custom fabricated by Finespanner, Inc. Lastly, new correct knock-off wire wheels were installed following the restoration, and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.

This Healey has been exceptionally well-cared for. It is excellent throughout with everything working properly and as was originally intended. On a recent road test, this BN2 was superb in every respect. This BN2 is turn-key and eligible for many of the world’s finest tours and events. Shown at the Austin Healey Encounter meet in Princeton, NJ in 2017, this BN2 won Best in Show, Best in Class and received its Gold level certificate from the Austin Healey Concours Registry. One of the finest BN2s available, it is complete with its BMIHT Certificate, Gold level certificate, tool kit, knock-off hammer, jack, owner’s manual, spare wheel, side windows, tonneau, soft top and its well documented restoration file.
