Beschreibung
"The Virage was Aston Martin's replacement for the decades old V8 models and introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1988. This V8 powered car was intended as the company's top model with their six-cylinder 1994 DB7 slotted below it but this V8 model (by then in Vantage form) remained the exclusive, expensive and handbuilt king of Astons. The Virage was a large, heavy car in spite of its all aluminium body, but the 32-valve 5.3 litre V8 engines elevated its performance to sports car levels. ‘Acceleration just never seems to run out’, claimed Sports Car International on a first test. They also praised the ‘eager and quicker revving’ nature of the engine with its Callaway designed heads and Weber Marelli fuel injection. ‘Nothing sounds quite like an Aston V8’, they concluded. The Virage Volante convertible debuted at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show with production examples beginning in 1992 featuring 2+2 seating. It is thought that between 224 and 233 examples had been produced when the series ended in the late 90’s.
This delightful example of an Aston Martin convertible has all the presence and prestige of such a highly revered manufacturer. Sit in the driver’s seat of these stunning cars, fire-up the V8 engine and suddenly you enter a whole new world of sportscar motoring. The performance of these imposing machines is more than brisk. This splendid example has only covered 22,000 miles in 24 years on British roads; clearly it has been a very well looked after and highly cherished example. It is supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st January 2022 and a history folder. Low volume production Aston Martins has always proved a shrewd investment, the Virage range of cars look likely to follow suit.Interested parties should note that this vehicle has had over £23,000 spent on it this year and as such is in excellent condition mechanically.
