« Brutale » fut une expression souvent utilisée pour qualifier l'Aston Martin la plus rapide jamais offerte lors de son lancement en 1993, mais comme la Vantage n'avait pas moins de 550 ch pour propulser ses deux tonnes, le mot peut être entendu comme une honnête appréciation. En essai avec le magazine Autocar, une Vantage de développement atteignit 100 km/h en 4, 6 secondes faisant mieux qu'une Ferrari 512 TR et 160 km/h (100 mph) 5,5 secondes plus tard seulement. Le kilomètre départ arrêté fut abattu en 23,1 secondes et bien qu'un chiffre de vitesse de pointe vérifié n'ait pas été disponible, la Vantage aurait atteint 305 km/h lors d'un essai en France.

Livrée neuve à Hambourg, en Allemagne, cette rare et désirable Aston Martin Vantage – modèle appelé ensuite V550 Vantage –est peinte dans une rare nuance de gris foncé « Litchfield black » avec un très belle sellerie vert foncé à passepoil vert sombre. Nous savons que trois exemplaires seulement de ce modèle ont été finis en Litchfield black et qu'un seul a été proposé – celui-ci – avec un intérieur vert. Ce modèle a conduite à gauche et boîte manuelle à six rapports d'origine est relativement rare. La production de 1996 (avec direction à droite et à gauche) est d'environ 35 voitures. La Vantage livrée le 25 juin 1996 est accompagnée de sa carte de garantie et de son manuel d'entretien originaux. Ce dernier fait état d'un changement de compteur en 1998 à 11 000 km avec remise à zéro du totalisateur. Le compteur actuel affichant 29 200 km, le total effectivement parcouru est un peu supérieur à 40 000 km.

En 2006, l'Aston passa de l'Allemagne au Luxembourg où elle fut achetée plus tard par le vendeur actuel. Il apparaît d'après les factures d'entretien que la voiture n'a presque pas roulé depuis 2006 : environ 10 000 km seulement en 15 ans. La voiture est accompagnée du manuel d'utilisation et du manuel d'entretien, ce dernier tamponné à trois reprises entre juin 1996 et juin 1999. Les documents supplémentaires comprennent les papiers d'immatriculation luxembourgeois périmés portant le numéro (approprié), « AM 6006 », le contrôle technique luxembourgeois (valable jusqu'en juillet 2019), une copie d'un ancien titre de circulation allemand (2005) et des factures de travaux effectués par Performance Cars au Luxembourg à des dates diverses entre 2006 et 2018, date après laquelle la voiture n'a presque pas été utilisée.

'Brutal' was a word used more than once to described the fastest Aston Martin ever on its introduction in 1993, but as the Vantage had no less than 550bhp available to propel its two tons, the choice can only be judged fair comment. On test with Autocar magazine, a development Vantage raced to 100km/h in a Ferrari 512TR-destroying 4.6 seconds, reaching the 'ton' just 5.5 seconds later. The standing kilometre was achieved in 23.1 seconds with the speedometer registering close to 240km/h, and although a true top speed figure proved unobtainable, the Vantage was reported as having already recorded 305km/h while on test in France.

Delivered new to Hamburg, Germany, this rare and desirable Aston Martin Vantage, the model became known as the V550 Vantage, is finished in a rare shade of dark grey 'Litchfield black' with a lovely dark green interior with dark green piping. We've been advised only 3 examples were originally finished in Litchfield black and only one of them, the example offered here, with a green interior. Being an original left-hand drive model with the desirable 6-speed manual gearbox, is relatively rare. It is estimated only some 35 were built in 1996 (both LHD and RHD). The Vantage was delivered on 25th June 1996 and comes with its original warranty card and service book. The latter records a change of odometer in 1998 at 11,000 kilometres when the total was set back to zero. The current odometer reading is 29,200 kilometres, making the effective total from new a little over 40,000 kilometres.

In 2006 the Aston moved from Germany to Luxembourg where it was later purchased by the current owner. It is evident from service invoices that the car has hardly covered any distance since 2006: only some 10,000 kilometres in the past 15 years. The car comes with its wallet containing the owner's handbook and service book, the latter stamped on three occasions between June 1996 and June 1999. Additional documentation includes cancelled Luxembourg registration documents for the very suitable numberplate 'AM 6006'; Luxembourg Contrôle Technique (expired July 2019); copy of an old German title (2005); and invoices for works carried out by Performance Cars in Luxembourg at various dates between 2006 and 2018, since when the V550 Vantage has hardly been driven.
