In Aston Martin speak, 'Volante' means flyer in Italian and these cars do fly. Of every 10 V8s made, it is said one was a Vantage and one was a Volante. A most elegant car, the V8 Volante looks beautiful with the hood up or down, but of course down is its natural look.

Supplied new by Reg Vardy in 1979, this RHD V8 Volante was built in all white - white paintwork, white leather and white everflex hood. And after a full restoration in 2011, the car is now in a more palatable Crusader White with Magnolia leather and black piping, in addition to black painted GKN wheels and a black hood. The overall effect with this new scheme is very pleasing indeed.

As stated, in 2011 the car was bought by its current owner and a full restoration was undertaken by the Chiltern Aston Centre. Servicing has been through Rikki Cann, Chiltern Aston Centre and Trinity Engineering and more recently by Chicane. Although the engine has not been rebuilt, the gearbox has been updated to 'quick shift' and the car is fitted with straight through rear exhausts, giving this Aston a little bit more of that 'sense of urgency' that is usually muffled by rear silencers.

Of particular interest to those buyers seeking a clean car, this V8 Volante has won 1st and 2nd place in various AMOC concours events over the past few years and is therefore, quite obviously, in immaculate condition. It would surely need to be to get a 1st place!
