Unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, with production starting shortly after, the Rapide was the first production 4 door Aston Martin since the William Towns styled AM Lagonda, which ceased production in 1989. Utilising the flexible VH chassis architecture so successfully used by Aston Martin during this production era, the Rapide retains the beautiful, timeless design language of the Sports / GT cars with the addition of the two rear doors and comfortable rear seats to deliver a hugely capable, refined and vastly underrated touring car with sports car characteristics.
