Introduced in 2007, the DBS took over as the flagship of Aston Martin's Gaydon range and drew directly on the DBR9 that won its class at Le Mans that same year. Flared wheel arches, a deep front splitter, and a carbon rear diffuser dressed a comprehensively reworked DB9 structure, while carbon-fiber hood, trunk, fenders, and doors, together with the first carbon-ceramic brakes fitted to a road-going Aston, trimmed some 143 pounds from the DB9's weight. Larger inlet ports and a 10.9:1 compression ratio lifted the 6.0-liter V12 to 510 horsepower, enough for 191 mph and 0–62 mph in 4.3 seconds.

A pre-production example served as Bond's car in Casino Royale nearly a year before the model was announced, and Daniel Craig returned to a DBS for the opening chase of Quantum of Solace in 2008, continuing a lineage linking Bond with the marque that traces to Ian Fleming's Goldfinger of 1959.

The DBS presented here was built to U.S. specification and ordered with the coveted six-speed Graziano manual transmission, a choice made by fewer than 1,000 of the roughly 2,534 DBS clients. It is finished in Mercury Silver over a custom-ordered Caspian Blue and Sahara Tan interior, and further equipped with an Obsidian Black steering wheel, 20-inch 10-spoke diamond-turned wheels, carbon-ceramic composite brakes, Bang & Olufsen surround sound, satellite radio, Bluetooth telephone connectivity, and voice-activated navigation.

The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report opens in 2009, when the car was sold new that May by Naples Luxury Imports in Florida and subsequently registered in New York to its first owner. It moved to Virginia in 2013, where Exclusive Automotive Group, the Aston Martin dealer in Ashburn, carried out service that July and again in October 2014. The second recorded owner acquired it in 2016 and returned it to New York, where it passed annual inspections through May 2021. The current caretaker acquired the car in 2022 and recently carried out its most recent service, entrusting Auto Europe of Birmingham, Michigan, to perform an oil, transmission fluid, differential, and brake fluid change, with fewer than 50 miles traveled since.

With fewer than 9,100 miles covered in seventeen years at the time of cataloging, fresh fluids throughout, and the sporting manual transmission so few American clients chose, this DBS is ready to be used as Gaydon intended. Its custom-ordered Caspian Blue and Sahara Tan cabin sets it well apart from its contemporaries, and it would suit a collection of modern-era sports and GT cars as readily as a long weekend road.
