Built in 1972, this Aston Martin DBS V8 left the factory with Tudor Green paintwork and a Mustard leather interior before being sold to Paolo Sorelli, an Italian gentleman living in London. Later he took the car to his summer house in Tuscany, where it remained until it changed hands via the Aston Martin specialist Noble House in 2013, and entered the consignor’s German collection. Noble House replaced the timing chains, valves, exhaust system, along with revisions to the braking system. On its consignment to RM Sotheby’s Munich sale, it was commended by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust for retaining many of its original features.
This Aston Martin DBS V8 presents well in its factory-correct colour scheme of Tudor Green over Mustard leather. The odometer reads 50,681 kilometres at the time of cataloguing and, upon inspection, the car has been found to retain its matching-numbers 5.3-litre V-8 engine. This example is also fitted with the desirable five-speed manual gearbox.
As the fastest production four-seater car in the world at the time of its launch, the DBS V8 occupies a special place in Aston Martin’s history. This well-preserved, matching-numbers, manual-gearbox example more than lives up to the legend. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mu23.
