**Der V12-Klassiker mit britischer Noblesse - der DB7 Vantage 2001**
Der DB7 wurde 1993 auf dem Genfer Automobilsalon präsentiert und gleich zum "Car of the Show" gewählt, so stark schlug er bei Publikum und Fachpresse ein. Das neue Modell war der erste für grössere Stückzahlen entwickelte Aston Martin, wurde ein Verkaufshit und rettete die Marke.
Die Bodengruppe des DB7 stammt ursprünglich vom Jaguar XJS, der sie wiederum von der Jaguar XJ-Limousine geerbt hatte, so dass ihre Wurzeln bis in die späten 1960er-Jahre zurückreichen. Ins gleiche Jahrzehnt zurück reichen auch die Designanleihen des DB7: das Retro-Kleid erinnert an den DB4, den DB5 (das James Bond-Auto) und den DB6. Gleichzeitig knüpfte Aston Martin mit dem Kürzel DB wieder an Firmenchef David Brown an, nachdem dieser das defizitäre Unternehmen 1972 verkauft hatte.
Im März 1999 wurde wiederum in Genf ein neuer Motor für den DB7 vorgestellt, mit doppelt so vielen Zylindern (12) und 425 PS. Das Design wurde bis auf die Front mit grösseren Nebelscheinwerfern kaum verändert.
Ein solcher DB7 Vantage ist unser Auktionsfahrzeug. Wir bieten es mit erst knapp 39'000 km aus zweiter Hand an, mitsamt einer Kopie des Kaufvertrages des Erstbesitzers. Seit 2019 wurde dieser DB7 Vantage bei der Emil Frey Classics gewartet und Anfang Mai dieses Jahres frisch geprüft. Der kostenintensive Ölwechsel wurde im vergangenen Oktober ausgeführt.
Ein äusserst gepflegtes, ursprüngliches Fahrzeug in der gesuchten Variante mit Handschaltung – und dazu viel Aston Martin für überschaubares Geld.
**The V12 classic associated with British nobility: 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage**
Unveiled at the 1993 Geneva Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB7 was an instant success and voted “Car of the Show” by both the public and the press. It marked a turning point for Aston Martin as the first model designed for higher production volumes, becoming a commercial hit and ultimately saving the brand.
The DB7’s undercarriage was originally derived from the Jaguar XJS, which itself borrowed from the Jaguar XJ saloon developed in the late 1960s. Its design also pays homage to the era, with styling cues reminiscent of the DB4, the DB5  James Bond’s iconic car  and the DB6. As with its predecessors, the "DB" initials honoured Aston Martin’s former owner, Sir David Brown, who sold the struggling company in 1972.
In March 1999, once again in Geneva, Aston Martin introduced a new power plant for the DB7: a 12-cylinder engine producing 425 bhp. The styling of the DB7 Vantage remained largely unchanged, apart from a redesigned front end featuring larger fog lights. Our auction vehicle is such a model, which has had only two owners and clocked up just under 39,000 km. A copy of the original purchase contract from the first owner is included. The car has been maintained by Emil Frey Classics since 2019 and passed a fresh technical inspection in early May 2025. A major service, including a costly oil change, was completed in October 2024.
This is a beautifully maintained original model of the highly sought-after manual version – and offers a generous dose of Aston Martin pedigree at a reasonable price.
