1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 - Vantage Specification

Superbly finished in Aston Martin Elusive Blue with Connolly (VM 846) Tan hides and in exceptional condition, this delightful DB6 Mk2, to Vantage specifications, has covered just under 2,000 miles since its total 'nut and bolt' body-off restoration, completed in 2016.

First registered and delivered in 1970, after some 40 years and with 80k miles covered, this exceptional DB6 Mk2 has been the subject of a professional and total restoration, by renowned marque specialists. Every aspect of the car including; the chassis, body, paintwork and all mechanical and electrical components have either been rebuilt or restored, with further specification upgrades fitted simultaneously. The exterior colour changed to Elusive Blue and engine rebuilt to 4.2 litre lead free specifications, a refrigerated Air Conditioning system was also installed, giving improved comfort and useability on today’s more congested roads.

Built originally with Brico fuel injection, known to be problematic from new, the Brico equipment was removed by Aston Martin agents Robin Hamilton Ltd in the mid 1970’s and Vantage specification applied, featuring the renowned triple Weber carburettor arrangement, installed concurrently with a correct type ZF 5 speed manual transmission, allowing the full Vantage engine performance to be realised.

Since completion of the restoration in 2016, maintenance over the 2,000 miles covered, has been entrusted to highly regarded marque specialists and the car housed, in a climate-controlled environment, when not in use. Accompanying the car, is a comprehensive ‘Before and After’ photographic record of the restoration, with full details and invoices, of the comprehensive works carried out.

The swansong and final development of a highly successful line of Aston Martin production, descended from the DB4 introduced in 1958, the handsome DB6 Mk2, with Vantage specifications, is the most powerful, refined, comfortable and spacious of the line. Distinguished by discreetly flared wheel arches, Mk2 badging, wider wheel and tyre equipment and with substantially more comfortable seating, the rare Mk2 model has become highly regarded, by seasoned Aston Martin enthusiasts and owners. In total just 242 examples of the DB6 Mk2, as being offered here, were built and delivered for worldwide distribution, before production ceased.

On display now, at our Hertfordshire showrooms, an early viewing is recommended.
