Armstrong Siddeley was one of the first British automakers to resume production after World War II. They continued to use the pre-war 16 hp OHV six-cylinder engine, but placed it in an advanced independent-front-suspension chassis graced with modern styling. Saloon cars were known as Lancasters, fixed-head coupes as Typhoons; drophead coupes like this one were designated ‘Hurricane’.

This Hurricane was supplied new to Armstrong Siddeley’s distributor in Lisbon finished in Fawn with a Brown interior. Although the car’s history is not known, at some point it was converted to RHD specifications. It has been selectively freshened in tan, with harmonising brown leather upholstery and matching carpet. Overall, it is a nice example of a seldom-seen British marque, sure to draw attention wherever it is seen.

A Armstrong Siddeley foi das primeiras empresas britânicas a retomar a produção automóvel depois da II Guerra Mundial. Continuaram a utilizar o mesmo motor de 16 HP com válvulas à cabeça, mas colocado sobre um chassis com suspensão dianteira independente e exibindo uma estética renovada. Embora a história deste automóvel não seja conhecida, a dada altura foi convertido para condução à direita. Foi criteriosamente renovado em castanho, com interior em pele, também castanha, e tapete condizente.
