Unregistered

- Authentic CGSS
- Iconic model
- Superb coachwork
- No reserve

Although the condition of this Amilcar CGSS shows the effects of a rather rough past, it is particularly interesting as the chassis is of indisputable authenticity and the body very likely the original one, which is very rare on this model. Roger Baillon's collection had two CGSS. On this one, the engine plate does not match with the car, presuming that it may have been replaced.
The CGSS differed from the CGS by its shorter wheelbase and its slightly more powerful 1100cc engine, other than its more slender body, which was lower, more harmonious and sportier. While the previous models seemed to be a little "high on stilts", this one has a really racy stance. The body, like all sporting Amilcars, was made at Charles Duval whose workshop was close to that of Lamy et Akar. This car was very popular with racing enthusiasts who enjoyed racing on the weekends.
The car on offer has its bonnet, its radiator, its wings, its wheels and the dashboard still has several instruments. The seats and the spare wheel are missing. After restoration, this authentic Amilcar CGSS will surely delight all enthusiasts of cyclecars.
