Beschreibung
"A sensation when first shown at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1948, the streamlined TB14 sportscar was an unlikely stablemate for the sober and conventional TA14 saloon on which it was based. Alvis' contract with coachbuilder A P Metalcraft called for an initial run of 100 cars, and in the event this was all that was ever made, the Jaguar XK120's simultaneous arrival on the home market at a slightly lower price rendering the TB14 un-competitive overnight.
This example is one of the rarest of post-war Alvis models which was acquired by our vendor in early 2018 and imported from Belgium, returned back to UK plates this car was first registered on 15th September 1950. A stunning restored example cream coachwork with well appointed deep red trim which shows the lines of this Alvis roadster beautifully, the car started very well and run without skipping a beat on inspection, testament to recent mechanical work our vendor had commissioned Spencer Lane-Jones ltd to complete, a full detailed recommissioning was completed late in 2018 with the invoices in the history file surmounting to £5,294. Supplied with the UK V5C registration document, shipping and import papers, recent invoices and Vintage Alvis books. This is a rare and collectable Alvis in fabulous order and viewing is recommended.
