Created by successful British racer and car manufacturer Sydney Allard, Allard sports cars are fascinating automobiles, and this 1952 Allard K2’s history makes it all the more remarkable. The car left London in April 1952 bound for Noel Kirk Motors in Los Angeles. It was originally finished in blue with a red leather interior and black convertible top.

Though this Allard’s early history is unknown, it was acquired in the mid-1960s by film and television actor Jeff Cooper, who turned to legendary customizer George Barris to personalize the car. Barris made stylistic changes, including removing the Allard’s fender-mounted headlights and relocating them to the front bumper. Circa 1970, Cooper commissioned fabled customizer, painter, and pinstriper Von Dutch to create the car’s fantastic yellow and black paint scheme. Upon completion, Von Dutch signed the bonnet just below the Allard emblem.

Over the years, the Allard has been mechanically modified to provide an exhilarating driving experience. Today, it boasts a Ford small-block V-8 and four-speed manual gearbox. Modern four-wheel disc brakes provide excellent stopping capabilities, and the suspension furnishes comfortable, sure-footed handling.
