Quand Federico Fellini nous fit dont de sa “Dolce Vita”, le réalisateur transalpin ne s’était peut-être pas préparé à donner naissance à bien plus qu’un film. L’expression éponyme qui en naîtra épousera le “lifestyle” et les tendances immortalisées par la caméra de Fellini. Bien que la Triumph TR3 s’y prête à merveille, c’est assurément le Spider Giulia qui incarnera au mieux l’image de “La Dolce Vita”. Quand on y pense c’est l’évidence même. Impossible de ne pas associer un Spider Alfa Romeo à l’expression populaire. Ces deux mythes italiens sont intrinsèquement liés, leurs succès et leurs popularités en découlent. Le Spider Duetto, qui débarqua quelques années plus tard, héritera de cette image, davantage ancrée dans l’imaginaire collectif grâce à Dustin Hoffman dans “Le Lauréat”. Bien que Dustin, davantage occupé à retrouver sa chère et tendre, abandonne son Duetto sur un fond de Simon & Garfunkel, Alfa Romeo ne l’abandonnera que plus de 25 ans après. C'est dire le succès du Spider, véritable icône populaire devenue vecteur d’une Dolce Vita tant adorée - celle d’être bercé, cheveux aux vents dans un cabriolet Alfa Romeo, par le soleil et le doux bruit du 2.0 litres double arbre. Le spider aura connu dans sa longue carrière, différentes formes mais toujours le même charme ravageur et le même charisme. La Série 4, version ultime du Spider, ne sera produite que 4 ans et signera la fin d’un chapitre.

Notre auto n’est pas une série 4 comme les autres. Il s’agit de l’un des 120 exemplaires édition “Beauté” produits en collaboration avec le célèbre couturier Jean-Louis Scherrer, exclusivement pour le marché français. Cette série spéciale se distingue par une carrosserie bi-ton très élégante de couleur blanche associé aux bas de caisse et capote bleus. Notre exemplaire possède également un rare hard-top (disponible uniquement en option) de couleur blanche. Numérotée 078, notre exemplaire est une deuxième main jamais restaurée. Elle présente une patine sympathique, totalisant près de 170.000 kilomètres. Le moteur a été entièrement refait à 120.000 kilomètres. L’auto se distingue notamment par sa peinture d’origine, présentant quelques marques du temps. Le quatre cylindres double arbre à cames de deux litres ayant fortement contribué à la renommée d’Alfa Romeo - produisant 126 chevaux - fonctionne parfaitement bien. Si les beaux exemplaires de Spider 2000 en état d’origine sont aujourd’hui très compliquées à trouver, une “Beauté” jamais restaurée est une véritable perle. Difficile à dénicher, elles ne sortent que très rarement sur le marché…

Utilisation

L’Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider est une référence du genre : petit cabriolet maniable, le spider est l’arme parfaite pour les balades ensoleillées, que ce soit en campagne ou en bord de mer. Elle s’adapte parfaitement à la conduite urbaine ainsi qu’aux longs trajets. En bref, la Spider est une auto à tout faire.

Entretien

Notre Spider Beauté a toujours été bien entretenue. Les factures sont nombreuses, le suivi est retraçable grâce au dossier et l’historique limpide. De très nombreux frais ont été effectués ces dernières années et l’auto a subi une grosse révision chez le spécialiste parisien de la marque, le Garage Busson.

Historique

Achetée neuve en France en 1991, notre spider est resté entre les mains de sa première propriétaire jusqu’en 2000. Le second et dernier propriétaire l’a conservé jusqu’à cette année. L’ancienne carte grise est présente avec l’intégralité de l’historique et des factures depuis l’origine.

Our car is not a Series 4 like the others. It is one of the 120 "Beauty" edition produced in collaboration with the famous fashion designer Jean-Louis Scherrer, exclusively for the French market. This special edition is distinguished by a very elegant two-tone white bodywork combined with blue rocker panels and soft top. Our example also has a rare hard-top (only available as an option) in white. Numbered 078, our car is a second hand car never restored. It has a nice patina, with a total of about 170,000 kilometers. The engine has been completely rebuilt at 120.000 kilometers. The car is distinguished by its original paint, showing some marks of time. The two-liter twin-cam four cylinder engine that has contributed so much to Alfa Romeo's reputation - producing 126 horsepower - works perfectly well. If beautiful examples of Spider 2000 in original condition are very difficult to find today, a "Beauty" never restored is a real gem. Difficult to find, they are very rarely released on the market...

The Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider is a reference of its kind: small and handy convertible, the spider is the perfect weapon for sunny rides, whether in the countryside or by the sea. It is perfectly adapted to urban driving as well as to long journeys. In short, the Spider is a car that can do it all.

Maintenance

Our Spider Beauty has always been well maintained. The invoices are numerous, the follow-up is traceable thanks to the file and the history is clear. Many expenses have been made in the last few years and the car has undergone a major overhaul at the Parisian specialist of the brand, the Garage Busson.
History

Bought new in France in 1991, our spider remained in the hands of its first owner until 2000. The second and last owner kept it until this year. The old registration is present with all the history and invoices since the origin.
