Beschreibung

Transmission: 5 gears, Manual gearbox
Registration number: DM-18-35

In the early to mid-sixties Alfa Romeo presented us with the 105 series Giulia, Spider and GT Junior. It would become one of the most successful periods ever for the brand, with each of the three offerings now a much loved staple classic. The coupé, i.e. the GT Junior has gained the appeal of the ultimate combination of sportiveness and practicality.
When the GT Junior or ‘Bertone’ as many call it also has a wonderful Azzurro Le Mans finish the picture is perfectly complete. We have a 1971 model, a Bertone with the smaller and according to most preferred taillights.
In 2010 this GT 1600 Junior was totally dismantled and took in hand. Whilst many of this period underwent a partial remake this coupé was rebuilt form the ground up. Looking at the accompanying paperwork the restorers chose an extremely thorough approach. The bodywork as a result is simply pristine. Brilliant paintwork, nice alignment and very neat seams between the front arches and sills, a thing which is not often found. Almost everything has been replaced making the car look as good as new. As with many enthusiasts, the previous owner fitted the stylish 15” alloy ‘TZ’ rims.
On further inspection on the inside we again see this GT Junior is in excellent shape, with nice feeling sports steering wheel as only non-original element. The dashboard features two large clocks that have preference above those fitted in later cars. The upholstery is undamaged and the wooden dashboard outstanding.
Mechanically speaking no effort or expense was spared during its professional rebuild and subsequent maintenance. The 1.6 Nord engine is eager and hungry to be revved as is wont with these engines. Other mechanical aspects such as the brakes, transmission and suspension are more than ready to put to the test.
If you are looking for a correct version and finish Gt Junior, ready for the coming season of endless fine driving experience, then we believe this Bertone is certainly worth a visit to Brummen.
