Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint 1300 (1962)

Get in and drive - this sublime Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint 1300 is ready for many nostalgic experiences and memorable tours. Cosmetically and mechanically, the car is in top condition: not only behind the wheel, but also at an appropriate distance - to admire the beautiful design - this Italian bella macchina makes your heart beat faster.

A meticulous restoration is the basis for this. The starting point for the restoration of the Giulietta Sprint is the Certificato di Origine, which the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo issued on the basis of the chassis and engine numbers - matching numbers - of the car. On February 15, 1962, the Giulietta Sprint rolled out of the Alfa factory in Portello, three weeks later the car was transported to Newark, New Jersey (USA). Painted in the gorgeous Azzurro Iseo color, the Giulietta Sprint had a bright future in California.

Thanks to the dry climate in the Golden State, the Giulietta Sprint's sheet metal was optimally preserved. The Giulietta Sprint has only been repainted once in its history. During the restoration it soon became clear that the body was still in an exceptionally good condition. An ideal basis.

The extensive photo report of the restoration that Peet Classics supplies with the Giulietta Sprint shows that a very high quality has been pursued. Each part was carefully inspected, assessed and replaced or overhauled (if necessary). However, history cannot be changed: the interior of the Giulietta Sprint - upholstered with blue artificial leather and dark blue carpet - was still in a very beautiful condition, with an authentic look that cannot be matched with new materials.

The longer you look at the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, the more you will appreciate the beauty of its design. But in the end, this car was of course built to drive in 1962. Under the hood lies Alfa's famous four-cylinder double-lug - another great product. The alloy engine has a capacity of 1.3 liters and is built entirely according to the original specifications. With its single carburettor and standard camshafts, the engine makes a very lively impression. Thanks to the low weight of only 914 kilos and the optimal gear ratios, the Giulietta Sprint has more than enough power to deliver challenging performances with its 80 hp. This also applies to the chassis: the steering is light and full of feeling, and invites you to make the most of the sporty talents of the Giulietta Sprint. This is a car that you will nestle deep in your heart. Not only because of its beautiful design, but especially because of its characteristic driving characteristics.

can be seen that surprisingly little rust appeared during the restoration of the body. To restore the bodywork with its complex round and convex shapes to its former glory, the welding machine hardly needed to be used.

To ensure originality, the Giulietta Sprint was brought back in the classic Azzurro Iseo paint scheme. The interior of the masterpiece, drawn by Franco Scaglione (employed by Bertone), was also still in a beautifully preserved condition. There was no reason to reupholster the furniture - that would have detracted from the Giulietta Sprint's look.
