"There are many ways to introduce an Alfa Romeo Spider; oblique references to the academy award-winning film ‘The Graduate’ with Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft, its superb engine, its roots tracing back to 1910 and in continuous production, in one form or another since then or the significant element it has contributed to the world’s motor racing history from the Mille Miglia to modern Touring Cars. During 1970, the Giulia 105 series Spider was updated with many improvements from its predecessor including such upgrades as a new drag reducing Kamm tail, bigger brakes and a limited slip differential. All Spider models were offered with, as standard, five-speed gearboxes, disc brakes all around and twin cam engines with four engine options; the 1.3, 1.6, 1.8 and as offered here, the top of the range 2.0 litre model.
This Alfa Romeo was originally delivered to South Africa and has recently been imported into the United Kingdom. Following its arrival, a comprehensive recommissioning of the car has been undertaken.
