History:
The AC Cobra remains one of the most iconic sports cars in automotive history. It was born from Carroll Shelby’s idea of combining a British roadster with an American V8. As original 1960s Cobras became virtually unattainable, several small manufacturers began producing replicas from the late 1970s onward. Among them, the American company Classic Roadsters, based in North Dakota, became one of the largest players in the market, producing up to 80 replicas per month during its peak years.

This example is a Classic Roadsters-built replica of the Cobra 427 SC, assembled in 1991 with a brand-new engine sourced from the Ford Motorsports catalogue. It features a red paintwork with white center racing stripes, a tribute to Ford’s victory over Ferrari at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

🇫🇷 Our client purchased the car from its first owner in April 2024, making it a two-owner example.

📄 The car is now registered in France under a historic vehicle registration. A full appraisal was carried out in 2024, and a service was completed in 2026, meaning the car is ready to hit the road. These documents are available in the "Documents" section.

Condition:
This example is presented in very good overall condition.

🚘 The polyester bodywork is in very good condition. Panel fit is correct, and the red paint with white stripes has an even, glossy finish. The two-tone 15-inch MiniLite alloy wheels are in very good condition. The chrome "banana-style" bumpers and lights present very well. Two original chrome roll bars are supplied with the car and have never been installed.

Inside, the upholstery is in very good condition. The polished aluminum dashboard houses a full set of chrome-bezel VDO gauges, all fully functional. The three-spoke wooden steering wheel with Cobra hub is well preserved.

⚙️ The Ford Windsor 351 H.O (High Output) small-block V8, installed new when the car was built, runs perfectly. It is paired with a reinforced Ford/Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual gearbox and a Ford 8.8-inch limited-slip rear differential. The suspension, derived from the Ford Mustang II, is fitted with KYB gas shock absorbers at both the front and rear. Braking is provided by ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The car offers very good road manners. A detailed list of the mechanical components fitted to the car can be found in the appraisal report.

The underbody is sound, and photographs are available in the gallery.

🛞 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (245/60 R15 front and 255/60 R15 rear). During the latest appraisal carried out in 2024, tire wear was estimated at approximately 10% on all four tires. The car has covered very few miles since.
