Beschreibung

Talk about icons: The MV Agusta 750S is the perfect combination of racing pedigree, exquisite engineering and striking design.
Developed by the legendary MV Agusta marque, founded by Count Domenico Agusta in 1945, and famed for dominating Grand Prix racing in the 1950s and 60s, the 750S was a road-going machine that echoed the technology of its famed race-track counterparts. World Champions such as John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini all rode the MV Agusta fours to countless victories.
At its heart is the 743cc inline four-cylinder DOHC engine, delivering approximately 72 horsepower at 9200rpm. This powerplant was mated to a five-speed gearbox, allowing the 750S to achieve a top speed of nearly 200 km/h. The engine was derived directly from MV’s racing engines, offering a unique blend of refinement and raw performance.
The magnificent 1972 MV Agusta 750S on offer here, has just two owners from new and covered a mere 10.800km in that time.
The first owner, Mr. Hansen, drove from Denmark to the MV Agusta factory in Italy in the autumn of 1972, hoping to buy a GP racer directly from the manufacturer. At the factory, they kindly refused to sell a GP racer to him as he was not a known customer. Instead they offered for him to come back the following day, when they would prepare a road going 750S with Grand Prix petrol tank, seat and fairing. A deal was struck and soon after, Mr. Hansen returned to Denmark with his new 750S in racing trim and with the standard petrol tank and seat next to the bike. A customs clearance note from the 19th of October 1972 shows the MV Agusta to be imported into Denmark via Germany.
Later on the first owner would add the Magni four-into-four exhaust system, while keeping the original exhaust system next to the bike (now in need of re-chroming). The first owner did not use the bike much, but kept it in running condition and pride of place in his garage.
In 1994 the 750S changed ownership after years of discussing a sale, and it has since been cherished and driven occasionally by the second owner. In recent years the MV has been on static display, but turned over every now and then. It will need light recommissioning before being used again.
Together with the bike is the original GP racing tank, Emmevi seat, original four-into-four exhaust system as well as some other smaller parts: a NOS Bosch distributor, one spare Dellorto carburettor, a complete gasket set, oil filters, original blinkers, two 750S spare parts catalogues, original 750S sales brochure, the original 750S owners manual and lastly, the original import document from 1972.
Hand build and in very limited numbers, the MV Agusta 750S was one of the most expensive motorcycles of its day adding to its scarcity today. A new MV Agusta 750S would buy you three Honda CB750 in the early 1970s.
Today the MV Agusta 750S is a sought after, holy grail for enthusiasts and collectors, symbolising the zenith of 1970s European motorcycle craftsmanship and racing pedigree.
