Description:
The Falcone is the last evolution of Moto Guzzi’s famous 500 cc single which started in 1921. The Falcone was a popular motorcycle in Italy with versions used by the police, the military as well as the rider who wanted a sporting motorcycle. The engine with light alloy cylinder head, received fuel from one Dell’Orto carburetor. It produced 23 BHP at 4500 RPM. It is mated to a 4 speed constant mesh gearbox which is foot operated. Suspension is front telescopic dampers and rear friction dampers. Brakes are drum.
The Falcone is the last example of Carlo Guzzi’s design and engineering excellence. With large external flywheel and finned single cylinder engine. In the 1950’s this was the most sought after of all the Moto Guzzi bikes.

History:
This bike is a limited edition Falcone Sport in the very rare factory colors of dark blue with a chrome fuel tank and white and gold pin stripping.
The Factory Certificate of Origin shows it was produced on November 23rd, 1960 and sold to the ministry of the interior in Rome on December 5th, 1960.
These special blue Falcone Sport were also made for the Carabinieri (National Gendarmerie), and the Corazzieri (Presidential Guard), and used in motorcades escorting The Pope.

Of Note:
The Falcone was on display in 2015 with 8 other Moto Guzzi’s showing the evolution of the Moto Guzzi 500 at The Quail Motorsports Gathering which won an award. It was the bike selected to ride on the podium to accept the prestigious award. It was also the winner of the Orange County Motorcycle show in November 2015.
