Beschreibung
1960 Mondial 175cc Turismo Veloce
Engine no. R3015R
Boasting a single-overhead-camshaft engine with chain drive to the cams (a first for a Mondial roadster) the firm's new 175cc model debuted at the 1954 Milan Show in Turismo Veloce and Sport versions, the latter being replaced by the Gran Sport in 1958. This Mondial 175 Turismo Veloce dates from 1960 and is unique, having been extensively modified by the firm's chief mechanic Nerio Biavati, who replaced the standard valves and other parts at the behest of Giancarlo Rossetti, owner of OFMER (Officine Meccaniche Rossetti), a manufacturer of fishing reels. The machine was purchased at an auction in 1990. No documents.
As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
