The Laverda RGS and Jota triples were much admired in the 1980s for their power and superb finish, though purists prefer the original 750-cc SF twins and the highly regarded SFC racing variant. We are informed this racing replica was developed from the RGS 1,000-cc endurance racer and features the monstrous 1200-cc motor, perhaps from a 1200 Mirage or a Laverda 1200 America. The creator of this replica clearly intended to combine the best of all possible Laverda series in this package.
This motorcycle has been restored and is finished in the correct orange with twin endurance Carello headlamps. Twin Dellorto PHF 32 carburettors supply the fuel to the engine, and the front brake has twin discs and a single brake disc to the rear, allowing very effective braking at high speeds.
