Beschreibung

Honda’s first Scrambler-style bike was the CL72 from 1962, which featured a 250 cc single-cylinder engine and was fitted with a high exhaust on the left side of the bike, higher handlebars, and a skid plate. This formula would be retained by Honda for a number of bikes that followed, with a highlight being the CL450 such as the example offered here.

Based around the CB450’s jewel-like 445 cc twin, the CL450 was offered as a more practical alternative to the CB, with upright ergonomics and the ability to go off road, should the rider find it necessary. The styling of these scramblers is classic Honda, and they are subjectively among the most handsome of their segment.

This Stratos Blue 1971 CL450 shows approximately 2,400 miles and retains period Dunlop Gold Seal tires, both original to the bike, according to the consignor. It was purchased by the consignor in 2017 from its original owner and features the one-year-only “Batwing” fuel tank prized by collectors. As a well-preserved example of one of Honda’s most sought-after scramblers, this CL450 deserves your closest attention.

*Please note that this vehicle has been in long-term static storage and will require mechanical maintenance prior to road use.
