The Cucciolo was a micromotor produced by Ducati from 1945 to 1958, initially under licence from SIATA (Società Italiana Applicazioni Tecniche Auto-Aviatorie) of Turin. Aldo Farinelli designed a robust, fuel-efficient 4-stroke micromotor for use on bicycles in 1943. This allowed SIATA to resume production in the post-war period, and the success of sales prompted the company to look for a manufacturing partner, which it found in Ducati of Bologna. The first two models, called Type 1 (T1) and Type 2 (T2) were simple micromotors mounted on bicycle frames. In 1949, the T3 was presented with a beam frame produced by Industrie Aeronautiche Caproni. This model was restored and presumably never used since. A general mechanical check is recommended before use.
