Beschreibung

One of the rarest variations of the A10 the BSA Spitfire Scrambler was built specifically for the USA market on the insistence of BSA’s west coast distributor Hap Alzina. A stripped down competition model aimed at motocross and California desert races it had a lightweight frame, high compression pistons, full race cams and a close-ratio gearbox.
Built between 1957 and 1962 about 300 bikes were produced each year.
This fine example was dispatched 17th Feb. 1960 to Hap Alzina and remained in the USA until about 2006 when it was imported from California. Recently UK registered it comes with a VMCC dating certificate confirming that it retains its original engine and frame.
In generally good condition and in good running order this is nice original and rare example.
