Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition

As a further step in their cooperation, Ducati and AMG will launch a personalised version of the Italian superbike manufacturer’s Diavel, a model that Classic Driver contributor Tom Stewart rode earlier this year.

The changes are purely cosmetic. The renowned German tuner has - for now at least - left the already mightily powerful bike alone in the performance department, simply applying its high-quality carbonfibre know-how to an already dramatic machine.

The matt-black and ‘AMG special Diamond White Bright’ motorcycle is trimmed with carbonfibre stripes and lateral radiator grilles with aluminium trim. It has an ‘AMG-style’ sport exhaust system with engraved end-caps, and an AMG-inspired, horizontally ribbed seat, upholstered in Alcantara.

The road wheels are new to the bike, being five-spoke alloy creations of a style similar to that fitted to AMG motor cars.

The new bike will be presented to the public at this month’s Frankfurt show. More AMG/Ducati specialities to come include “exclusively designed leather jacket and helmet apparel”, which will be available in early 2012.
