The exterior and underside of this vehicle are in equally fantastic condition. With just a little over 40,000 miles on the clock it has been cherished and well maintained throughout its life. There are few signs to let you know that this car has been on the road for the last 18 years, you need to strain your eyes to pick up on light stone chips on the front valance and the rest of the car is pretty much unmarked. It is always difficult to say categorically, but the bodywork all looks factory fresh. The underside has a light coat of clear wax-oyl and shows no signs of welding or repair. The car is sporting a set of factory 16 inch alloy wheels which are in unmarked condition and have a matching set of Dunlop SP Sport tyres. Each of these has over 5mm of tread and are all in good condition. The brakes are also in good condition with recent fluid change and plenty of meat left on the friction parts. As with the rest of the car the interior of this Mercedes SL is in beautiful and original condition. The carpets, door cards, seats and convertible hood are virtually unmarked and would not look out of place in a main dealer new car showroom. This car has climate control air conditioning, electric seats, mirrors, 6 CD changer, remote locking and cruse control to name but a few of its features. All of the electrics are in full working order and provide a great level of everyday comfort and performance. This car has had a total of three owners. The first owned it from March 1997 through to June 2004 during which time it covered 29,000 miles. It was bought by an Irish Motor Dealer who used it in the UK for a year before returning home and putting the car into long term storage with just over 36,500 miles on the clock. We were lucky enough to buy the lions share of his collection this time last year and sold this car immediately to a lady setting out for a year long tour of Europe. 4,500 miles and a year later we have the SL back to re-home! The car has a very good service history with original book pack, stamped service book and a letter confirming ownership by collector in Ireland.
