| The first Lola T-70 was built in November 1964 and sold to Mr J. Burke on 20th March 1965. Burke was a Team Surtees co-owner with John Surtees. This chassis was originally fitted with a 4.5 Traco Oldsmobile engine, then Traco 6 litre Chevroletenginess. Its remarkable race history includes drivers by none other than Jackie Stewart, John Surtees and Mario Andretti with excellent result: 1965-12/3- Tested at Silverstone by Surtees - equalled existing lap record held by F1 car. 1965-20/3- BARC Senior Service 200 at Silverstone - Surtees 2nd 1965-05/5- LA Time GP Riverside, CA - Jackie Stewart - DNS 1965-15/5- Silverstone - John Surtees - DNF 1965-05/6- Players 200 Mosport, Canada - John Surtees - 1st O/A 1965-24/7- Martini Trophy Silverstone - John Surtees - Pole/DNF 1965-30/8- Guards Trophy Brands Hatch - Jackie Stewart - 3rd O/A 1965-19/9- Players St Jovite Quebec - John Surtees - 1st O/A 1965-25/9- Pepsi 100 Mosport Canada - Jackie Stewart - withdrawn after Surtees accident. In 10/1965 Team Surtees sells SL70/1 to John Mecom Racing of Houston, Texas. 1965-30/10- Riverside - Mario Andretti - DNF. Mecom campaigned T-70 SL/1 in 1966/67, after which it passed through a fully documented chain of minor owners in the 1967-2004 period. After a recent research program undertaken by well know author and Lola T-70 expert John Starkey, this car has been fully authenticated as chassis #1 in a 2008 letter from Glyn Jones of Lola Cars International Ltd
