Very impressive condition 3 owners since new The Lotus Eclat was introduced in 1975 as a sister model to the radically-restyled and luxurious Lotus Elite Series 2. The twin-cam engined Lotus Eclat was intended to sell at a more affordable price than the Elite. The two models varied mainly in the upper half of the company's revolutionary new Vacuum-Assisted Resin Injection moulding system bodywork. The roofline of the Eclat sloped down into a fastback tail and in fact the Lotus deisgn team had for some time referred to this model as the 'Elite Coupe'. The Eclat had a conventional bootlid in contrast to the Elite model's hatchback. This Lotus Eclat is a so-called Eclat S2 which was introduced in 1980. It has the more powerful 2.2 litre engine. The enlarged engine offered appreciable extra torque through the mid-range while also providing improved fuel consumption. The Lotus has been newly delivered in the Netherlands at the 26th of October 1981. Since then, the car has had only 3 owners since new. The last owner, is well known as the biggest Lotus collector in the world. He owned the car for quite some years and kept the car in his collection. It might be clear that the condition of this Lotus is therefore in an extreme condition.
