This is one very classy Jaguar convertible. The last and ultimate version of the famous Jaguar XK range, with the very desirable DropHead Coupé body. These so called DHCs had an easy to operate hood, which protects the passengers much better against the elements compared to the sporty Open Two Seater models. The engine is the powerful 3,4 litre straight six engine with 190 bhp, in combination with the 4-speed Moss gearbox with electrical overdrive.
This example was originally delivered in America, and came to Europe in the nineties. The car was still in very good condition when it arrived, as shown in the pictures in the history file. The new owner decided to bring the car back to
its original condition, but with respect of the originality. After examining this car, we can confirm that this fantastic Jaguar must be one of the closest to original XK150's, and in absolute pristine condition. The car starts on the first turn of the starter, runs extremely smooth and has a fantastic but understated engine sound. The gearbox works perfectly, and so does the overdrive. The paintwork is immaculate, and still the correct Carmen Red as it was delivered in 1958. The interior is slightly patinated but absolutely beautiful, while the black mohair hood is as new with immaculate fit and finish. There comes quite a big file with invoices and pictures with the car, as well as some photographs and documents about the different concours d'elegance this XK has won. Since the car came to Europe, it has only done 4590 miles, which explains why it still looks so good.
It is definitely one of the very best XK Jaguars we ever had in stock, and it will certainly appeal to people who appreciate originality in combination with concours winning quality and looks. This car is a pleasure to drive and to look at, and we are sure that the next owner of this gorgeous XK150 will be a very happy owner !
