The 190SL displays an unquestionable harmony of tasteful bodywork and performance. United in this automobile are the classical form of the coupe and the aesthetically perfected aerodynamic lines of its time. The 1956 190SL Roadster presented here offers continued use as-is or makes the ideal base for restoration. Currently finished in light green over tan leather upholstery, top and square weave carpeting; this particular Mercedes came equipped with nearly every optional imaginable at the time. Luxuries include: brake booster, chrome rocker molding and eyebrow fender trim, bumper guards, foot operated windshield washer, octane adjuster (timing advance), leather interior, passenger s grab handle and folding arm rests. Purchased locally when new, documentation with the vehicle indicates the car resided in Germany until the late 1970 s, when it was brought to Garden City, New York where it has remained ever since. The 190 now displays an aging ground-up restoration with factory identification tags in their proper locations, and original glass trim bumpers all around. Corrosion is evident in areas of the undercarriage and along the frame rails. Included with this Roadster is the original Owner s manual, date coded wheels, several original service booklets, records, vintage German and Dutch roadmaps, jack, spare, tonneau cover, tool kit and more.
