| The 195 models were basically larger engined versions of the equivalent 166 cars. They were produced between 1950 and 1951 and only 27 were produced. The V12 motor had an increased capacity of 2341cc, achieved by enlarging the bore but retaining the existing stroke. The standard fitment for the 195 Inter was a single twin choke carburettor but some examples, (this one included) received a triple carb set up. The power produced was approx 130 BHP and this was coupled to a five speed gearbox. Front suspension was by transverse leaf spring and rear by rigid rear axle and semi elliptics. Drum brakes were fitted all round. Competition cars received even sequence chassis numbers and the road cars, the Inters, odd sequence chassis numbers. This car was sold new to Venezuela through the A.I.C.A.R. dealership in Milan and went on to have various owners in South America. It was brought back to Italy in the 1980’s by Toni Franco who sold it to Pier-Paulo Apicella in Bologna. In 1998 it was restored by “Franco Ferrari di Modena” a company that evolved from the old carrozzeria Fantuzzi. The car was dismantled and the engine was rebuilt, along with the gearbox, differential, suspension and brakes. The car was repainted dark red and trimmed in tan leather. In 2004 the car was sold to Nico Koel in Holland. The car first came to the UK in July 2005 when Terry Lister bought it. It then passed on to Chris Blundell in April 2007 and since then done less than 100 miles. The car today is a testament to that restoration and is in wonderful condition both cosmetically and mechanically. It retains a huge degree of originality (including its original engine) with all of the Ghia styling details present and correct, and comes with all UK papers up to date V5, MOT and Tax. The car is eligible for numerous international rallies and events including the most prestigious of them all the Mille Miglia.
