Here in the Classic Driver office we take matters of style very seriously.
So, the results from this week's Ferrari World Design Contest 2011 are significant. Congratulations to the winning students from Seoul's Hongik University, who have produced a stunning design that actually looks like a car — a handy starting point — and, more to the point, has that almost indefinable Ferrari DNA without being overtly retro.
We also have news of the dramatically shaped Shelby SuperCars Tuatara, and a feature on riding shotgun in the newest Porsche 911, the 991 generation that will be launched later this year.
The latest 911 appears, as you'd expect, very similar to all previous versions. Which is — 996 apart — a very good thing. Indeed, over a casual lunch in Hamburg earlier this week I counted three 993–series 911s whirring past the window, all looking fresh as a daisy.
Which proves that if you have a well–rounded wheel, there's not much point re–inventing it.

New to Classic Driver: 1965 Ford GT40, the 'Grand Prix' film camera car
Just how did John Frankenheimer achieve those stunning car–to–car shots, brought to the cinema in very 1960s split–screen editing? Many of them were filmed from an adapted version of this very car, the ex–1966 Brussels Motor Show Ford GT40, a potent racing car converted to high–speed camera platform and, in recent years, a front–running, pre–66 historic racer.
