EDITORIAL

If you could wave your monitor around a little, to help the ink dry on today's first drive of the Aston Martin Rapide story, we'd appreciate it.

Having spent yesterday in the beautiful city of Valencia enjoying the newest car in Aston Martin's range, I'm delighted to tell you all about it in this week's ClassicInside.

Speaking at the opening night dinner, the company's CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, compared Aston's Gaydon–era cars to the Spanish city, in having a "traditional face... and a modern face." A good simile, as the cutting–edge architecture of the waterside developments in Valencia has many parallels in the world of automotive design.

Dr Bez spoke of the ongoing success of the company — even in today's so difficult times — and also hinted at plans for a Rapide to appear this year in unfamiliar territory for a luxury four–seater, yet carry on the tradition of testing the company's products in the toughest possible environment.

That's got you guessing, but I'll leave the details for another time.
