EDITORIAL
Well done Jenson Button, Ross Brawn and the rest of the Brawn GP team. The boy from Frome in Somerset (it's pronounced 'froom', as in 'vroom', apparently) brought it home as we all knew he would.
What's more, Button and the likeable Barrichello, Vettel, Hamilton and Webber made it a thrilling penultimate round to the Championship. It was good to see the debutant Kamui Kobayashi do so well, too — he's obviously a bit useful and deserves a car in 2010.
The British media are making much of a Bugatti Veyron once owned by Button being put up for sale by an enterprising car trader. You and I will respond to that, "so?", as there are a few of them in the market, and a likely transient relationship with JB is not exactly 'ex–Steve McQueen', is it?
I have some car–buying suggestions for the Frome–flyer in this week's newsletter, and we also include first driving impressions of the 2010–model Porsche 911 Turbo.
Finally, I like the look of Bonhams' classic BMW sale and am mortified not to establish which two–wheeler was Marianne Faithfull's in the 1968 film Girl on a Motorcycle. It should have been a black BMW, surely?

First Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo (997/2)
Easier, stronger, cleaner, faster and more economical. The seventh–generation Porsche 911 Turbo sets impressive new standards in all disciplines. With 500HP (493bhp) it has almost twice the power of the original 1974 911 Turbo.

Driven: Volkswagen Phaeton 3.0–litre V6 TDI LWB
I see Jenson Button's Bugatti Veyron is for sale. Perhaps he should now be considering something more anonymous. Thirty years ago, his predecessor would have had a new, top–model Mercedes at their disposal; but can I suggest a bike ride to the VW dealer in Nice?

The Tokyo International Motor Show, which starts this week, sees the launch of the latest special edition from Lotus, the 'Exige Scura'. The name 'Scura' means 'dark' in Italian, and — says Lotus — is due to the 'stealth character of the already fierce–looking sportscar'

Bonhams to Sell Important BMW Motorcycle Collection in Munich
French motorcycle policemen, riding boots and jodhpurs — if you like this sort of thing (in its most innocent sense) you should be at the BMW Museum on 28 November to bid on one of motoring's most enduring images: black–painted, flat–twin BMW motorcycles.

Previously owned by Carrera Super Cup Team owner Gottfried Kadach, this genuine matching-numbers car has been subject to concours restoration in our workshops.
The studio pictures were taken just over 12 months ago for an 8-page feature in Porsche 911 World magazine titled 'The Best RS in the World!'. The car was completed at Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen in late 1972 and supplied new as a left-hand drive model to into Germany, a change of owner saw the car end up in the private collection of Gottfried Kadach.
It was originally presented with Light Yellow 117 body colour and black interior: the car is finished using the original colour scheme. Over the past several years the car has undergone a meticulous ground-up restoration and mechanical rebuild both in the Kadach factory in Stuttgart and our workshops in Newport Pagnell. It has been completely striped, chemical dipped and E-coated. The extensive rebuild has included; new floors, front quarters, front latch panel, doors etc. Mechanically, the car has undergone a full engine rebuild, total running gear build and complete interior retrim. Only factory original parts have been used on the restoration.
This car represents a rare opportunity to acquire a matching numbers Porsche 911 2.7 RS Touring restored to concours condition complete with, original registration documents and comprehensive Export 56 restoration file.
