EDITORIAL

"The golden age of rock and roll will never die." So sang a sprightly 70–year–old Ian Hunter at last night's Mott the Hoople gig, and who'd disagree? The same principle applies to motor racing, as proved yet again by another super–successful Goodwood Revival.

Next year there will be an additional event at the Sussex circuit, the first 'Vintage at Goodwood'. It will build on the immense popularity of the Revival's period theme, and mix dress and lifestyle with music from the 1940s to the '80s. No racing, but I'm sure there will be automotive input somewhere along the line.

And, having bolted the door on my Airstream for the final time this year, the perfect accommodation for next August would be an iconic travel trailer from the Ohio manufacturer. Ginger beer, sausages and beans; you can read all about life under aluminium in this week's ClassicInside.

We've also attended the launch of a new, bespoke Overfinch Range Rover and covered several hundred miles behind the wheel of the Ferrari California.

Until next week: that's all.

This example of Jaguar's legendary E–type is a Series 1 4.2 roadster which makes it one of the most sought–after of all E–type models. Having been sympathetically maintained by the previous owner, the car is in a very good condition with recent work including a complete gearbox rebuild, new clutch assembly, new halogen headlamps, renewed electrical wiring, new water pump and new stainless steel wheels and new tyres.

With red paintwork and tan leather interior, the car is stunning from every angle. There is slight microblistering to the drivers door but this does not detract from the quality of the car. The engine does not burn oil, smoke or leak and complements the car's original characteristics. Having covered 49,331 miles, this E–type comes with a current MoT test certificate and Heritage Certificate.

A highly desirable example of Jaguar's most famous model, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
