EDITORIAL
The Confederation of British Industry tells us that the UK recession
is probably over. Technically. The first delicate glimmers of a fragile
economic upturn are peeping through the gloom. Maybe. Being a glass-half-empty
sort of person, I immediately start to worry about traffic jams. Congestion
on UK roads is at its lowest level for 20 years because no one can afford
to go anywhere. A recent report claimed that if the economy improves,
there might be more traffic jams.
It seems there's always a downside to everything.
But nowhere is better for escaping all thoughts of gloom than the always-glorious
Goodwood Revival, which Steve Wakefield covers in his extensive report
this week. There was a record turn-out this year - more than 134,000
spectators over the three days, causing a fair few tailbacks on the
roads of West Sussex. So perhaps the economy is indeed stretching, rubbing
its eyes and preparing to get out of bed.
Editor Wakefield, meanwhile, is soaking his Goodwood blisters in Scotland,
enjoying a few days' break. He'll be back next week.

The Lancia is a 1963 2.8 3C of which only 33 models were ever produced, not to be confused with the Flaminia Sport Zagato 3C 2.5 ltr, 155 were produced of which the chassis number always starting with: 824 ....
This car has been taken on multiple rallies putting over 10,000 miles for the last nine years. While the car is impeccably maintained, it is a driven car. The car was a cover car for a known magazine in the USA For the photo shoot for that magazine the car was driven over one hour from Scottsdale to the Superstition Mountains and then one hour home during the month of July. The temperature was over 110 degrees F or 45 degrees C that day and the car performed flawlessly. The car is to be sold with the original 400mm wheels with Lancia hub caps and beauty rings with Michelin X tires. The alloy wheels shown in photos of the car do not go with this car. Prior to the current owner, the car was part of a significant private collection for 20 years where it was rallied on occasion. This owner had the car repainted. The car was serviced by Algar Motors in Philadephia (the East Coast Lancia dealer on the 1960s) in the 1960s where an engine rebuilt was performed. A fantastic car extremely well maintained,
Condition 2+ This Lancia Flaminia Sport Zagato 3C 2.8 ltr can only be sold in Europe or other countries but not in the USA. Due to the rarity of this car please serious inquiry only.

Chassis 5847 GT was delivered in silver with black hide to Germany by Auto Becker in Dusseldorf in February 1964. In little over a year the car had covered 9894 Km and was serviced by the assistenza client department in Modena, Italy. In Autumn 1967 the car was bought by Per Ingvar Brandstrom and imported to Sweden. 5847 now passed through a few owners until purchased by Tom Trana in damaged condition in 1970 who prepared the car and competed in may road rallies with it.
Trana was a famous ex-works rally driver for Volvo and Saab who repainted it. The car then passed into the ownership of Rein Thomson who owned the car until 1978, selling it to Jens Larsson during which time the car competed in the Cognac rally and races at the Nürburgring.
In 1987 when owned by Gunnar Pettersson a full restoration of the car was commenced with body and paintwork being carried out by Carrozzeria Autosport (Bacchelli & Villa) in Bastigilia, Italy and the engine being rebuilt by Autofficina Sauro in Bologna, Italy. In 1992 the car was completely retrimmed by Luppi. The car then passed into the hands of the famous Dutch collector Schermerhorn until purchased by the current owner in 2002. During the past 7 years a great deal of attention has been paid to the car including a full engine rebuild, rear axle rebuild, suspension rebuild and new carburettors.
The car is offered in concours condition without flaws or imperfections but with a semi-competition aspect in mind with a few tasteful upgrades that only improve an already great model of Ferrari.
