EDITORIAL
It's Goodwood–a–go–go in the Classic Driver office. I drove back from Silverstone on Wednesday via Tim Samways' premises not far from the circuit. Tim had run the 1959 Le Mans winner at the track that day, and invited me to have a look round his new building where several Goodwood Revival contenders were in the advanced stages of preparation.
We also considered the preliminary entry list. Now, I'm not going to spoil the excitement for you, but it's looking as good as ever and the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy Celebration race promises to be a classic.
Plus, the all–Mini St Mary's Trophy will be an absolute hoot: 30+ Minis (or variations thereof), driven by ace amateurs and the best professionals out there — how could it be anything but?
Make those Revival arrangements right now. You have been told, and I mean it this time.
Finally, on the modern MINI front, does anyone like the new MINI Coupé Concept? I'm a big MINI fan but I think they might have blown it this time. It's a bit like the old Broadspeed faux–DB6–tailed 1960s version, or the Minisprint — and they were a bit odd, so I suppose nothing changes.
THIS WEEK IN CLASSIC DRIVER
Driven: Aston Martin DBS Volante

Launched during October 1981's Paris Salon, Ferrari's 512i BB most notably marked the arrival of fuel injection on Ferrari's Flat-12. Replacing the familiar Weber carbs (seen on almost every previous Ferrari model) fuel injection not only improved an engine's flexibility but made it much easier to maintain. The BBi remained in production for almost three years. A few minor detail changes were made to the bodywork with clear reflectors inserted into the front bumper and supplementary driving lights now exposed in the grille. There were also new wing mirrors. 1007 fuel injected Boxer's were completed of which 43 were right-hand drive. This took entire BB production to just over 2300.
The example offered here for sale is one of those 43 BBis produced in RHD and is therefore the rarest type of boxer with 58 RHD 365 GT4 BB's produced and 106 RHD 512 BB's. This car was built in 1982 and delivered in August of that year to the UK. Presented in Blue Chiaro with Crema Leather this Boxer has had 5 former keepers – being in the current owners possession since 2000 and having now covered 69,000 miles from new. DK have continually maintained the car for the last 10 years with the clutch being replaced last year and cam belts in July of this year.
A very original and well maintained example of the model.
