EDITORIAL
Well, that's disappointing. So we won't be seeing Schumacher behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car next weekend after all. He's got a dodgy neck, apparently, and has come up with a sick–note from the doc.
There's now no excuse not to mow the lawn — curses. But you never know, Monza is mid–September and the old boy might have had a few hot baths, a bit of massage, and have recovered by then.
On a different note, check your in–boxes on Sunday evening, we hope to bring you some surprise news straight from Pebble Beach.
Until then — and next week's ClassicInside, where we will have all the Monterey sales news — have a great weekend.

Rolls-Royce's Silver Clouds represent the last of the coachbuilt cars, and while most examples featured the standard steel saloon bodies, a few were built with striking H. J. Mulliner Park Ward bodywork. These bodies were well-proportioned and elegant, and later cars such as this one were motivated by the all new 6.2 liter V8 engine.
They were modern and as edgy as could be expected from Rolls-Royce at the time. Indeed, these cars were meant for powerful and wealthy owner-drivers, and appealed to captains of industry and celebrities who, incidentally, were among the few who could afford to purchase them. This particular car is a lovely solid car that had one owner until 2002, and now belongs to a collector with several other Rolls-Royces and Bentleys.
In the last year, he spent about $8000 to mechanically service this car, including brake system rebuild and power steering service. Cosmetically, the car makes a nice presentation, with straight panels and good fit.
This is a great opportunity to acquire an extremely rare left hand drive open Rolls; one of the last coachbuilt examples. This car has a lovely unmolested feel to it, which is supported by its long term ownership.

DB3S/104 is one of 20 'customer' DB3Ss, and one of only 31 examples built in total, including the Works team cars. As one of the three Kangaroo Stable cars, it is reportedly the 'least crashed' example of those; as such it is perhaps the most highly desirable of all.
Remarkably, seven DB3Ss were actively racing in California between 1956 and 1960. Rod Carveth was the first with DB3S/104 and the car boasts an unbroken ownership history, including California residency and race history from 1956-1989, and from 2005 to the present day. Rarely available on the market, these cars often change hands privately, among enthusiasts who stand in line for the next opportunity. So it is exceptional indeed to find one offered for sale publicly. RM Auctions is both pleased and proud to represent this exciting and important sports racer.
