EDITORIAL

You know me, forever Mr Reasonable. But if there's a whiff of a prize to be had, I'm up for it. And, as you can read below, a robbery worthy of the Pink Panther occurred in St Moritz the other weekend, viz, my driving partner and I failed to scoop a pot on the rally.

It was all very good fun, of course, and the best team won, naturally. There's always another day, as they say. Taking part is the main thing, etc, etc. But even so...

Classic Driver readers with sizeable fish ponds may wish to have a poke about with an extra–long stick this weekend. Who knows, they may well have a Bugatti residing at the bottom, alongside the Shubunkin that was looking a little peaky before you went on holiday. You never know, because another story we have for you this week is the wonderful one from the Swiss/Italian borders, where a 1925 Type 13 Brescia Bugatti has been disinterred after 72 years at the bottom of Lake Maggiore.

On a serious note, the proceeds of its sale will go to a very worthwhile charity. It's a remarkable tale with a happy ending.

Finally, our resident style guru, Chris Hrabalek, gets the Aston Martin Cygnet in his sights. Is it a Rotring rapidograph or blotchy Biro? You can read all about it in this week's ClassicInside.
