EDITORIAL
Three dozen supercars fighting for position on crowded Tarmac — and last Sunday's Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy was exciting, too. No, I jest. The run from London to Silverstone in post–rush–hour traffic was superbly organised, and ran like clockwork, under the beady eyes of the Metropolitan Police's Tactical Motorbike Unit.
At the coffee stop just outside London, it was nice to have a chat with some of the Coppers escorting the Supercar Tour. The seen-it-all, vastly experienced bikers are always interesting to talk to: you would never get away with doing anything silly, but at least it proves the Law has a human face.
Taking a few well–earned drags on their pipes, the Officers were, I'm glad to say, safely outside London's newly–designated Low Emission Zone.
