EDITORIAL
I have just put down an, er, unputdownable book. We've mentioned it before, but if there's one volume that manages to be laugh-out-loud funny, as well as exquisitely encapsulating the world of post-War motor racing, it's Touch Wood! by Duncan Hamilton.
From his wartime career in the Fleet Air Arm (once owning a dog that ate the only set of technical data for an early consignment of American fighters…), through the Le Mans victory in '53, and countless other alarums and excursions on– and off–track, it's a highly entertaining read.
Do the decent thing, old chap, and order a copy via Adrian Hamilton — you won't regret it.
Mentioned many times in Hamilton's book, the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy will be awarded this weekend to the winner of Sunday's FIA GT race at Silverstone. It promises to be a hard-fought event and we'll be in the thick of the action from today, joining the Supercar Tour from London to Silverstone.
Full details of this, and the 2008 Tour Auto Lissac, next week in ClassicInside.

The suspension was disassembled and replaced, including the braking system. The whole underneath was powder coated or replated.
