EDITORIAL
Ahhh… it takes you back. Well, a couple of things did really. First was reading the new Ferrari Boxer book, and being swept away to a long-haired, flapping-trousered era when men were men — but at the same time looking ever-so-slightly girly — cars were fast and to be driven, and you couldn't buy tickets to see Led Zeppelin.
Some things don't change.
Secondly, there was a final visit to Tickford St in Newport Pagnell, in the very last car to be made by Aston Martin in the famous Buckinghamshire market town.
I'd made it quite clear from the start that I would definitely not be setting the car up for a shot outside the factory gates, yet somehow at Junction 14 on the motorway the black car's homing instinct took over and we ended up at Sunnyside.
You can read what happened next in this week's ClassicInside.

With just 124 genuine 'Daytona' Spyders produced, they are among the most collectable Ferrari road cars of the era. Even among that limited group, this particular car is unique, and is an absolutely unrepeatable find.
Most Daytona Spyders have seen comprehensive restorations, have been through numerous ordeals, or both. This example, which effectively remains a one-owner 47,000-mile California car with irreproachable provenance and history, has seen no such mistreatment, but instead is a characterful and strikingly original car.
It was sold new through Hollywood Sports Cars to Lou Adler, founder of Ode Records, record producer, and director whose credits have included the Mamas and the Papas, Carole King, Sam Cooke, and others. Adler owned the car for almost three and a half decades, though it was stored for about a decade, starting in 1995.
As a result of the collector car boom of the late 80s, many coupés were decapitated to replicate this legendary car and consequently, a genuine Spyder is an even more remarkable find today.
They are certainly among the most coveted and usable road-going Ferraris ever built, and this car is an exceptional opportunity to acquire an unmolested and 'un-red' Daytona Spyder.
