EDITORIAL

So near and yet so far. Lewis Hamilton will have to wait another few days to claim this year's F1 crown. Beating the others on the track is one thing, but it's impossible to imagine the mental pressure of knowing that, bar one slip, he'd now be sitting comfortably with a debut-year World Championship and the world at his feet.

So it's all to play for in a week or so's time in Brazil, and let others judge who really did ‘deserve' to win in 2007.

You can read a review of some driving time spent at the wheel of Jaguar's XJ in this week's ClassicInside (we liked it a lot), and next week we'll have more driving impressions, this time of one of the most eagerly-anticipated GT cars of the year.

I look forward to telling you all about it next Friday.

This wonderful Dino has just received a complete engine rebuild by Bob Houghton at a cost in excess of £25,000.

Prior to this she had in the region of £50,000 spent by renowned Ferrari Specialists Foskers. Starting from a sound base she has had a complete chassis refurbishment, right down to the last nut and bolt. Methodically rebuilt with new gearbox, complete re-wiring, new glass, seals and new chrome.

Internally she has been retrimmed to the highest standards to include new Daytona-type seats. New door mirrors were fitted to help guide her through today's traffic conditions and the removable roof section has been colour-coded to ensure a seamless integration to the existing beautiful lines.

Finally, of course, New wheels and tyres and a modern stereo were also fitted. She comes complete with tool roll and invoices for completed works. The speedometer is currently showing 35,000 miles - she was in storage from 1977 to 1993 - hence the low mileage.

One of only 235 UK RHD GTSs produced we believe you will find it hard to find a better car in the market place. A truly outstanding example of one of Ferrari's prettiest ever motorcars.

This Alfa TZ1, Serial # 750 003 comes with photos and documentation from Le Mans 1964, Nurburgring 1000 Km 1964, Tour de France 1964, Cevennes 1964, Tour de Corse 1964. It still has its original Italian title and originals plates as well as modern Belgium documents, FIVA documents and FIA documents.

After the 1964 season this TZ1 was sent back to Alfa Romeo (Balocco factory race track facility) where it was totally dismantled. Late 1964-65 it was put into storage in Milano where it stayed for the next 35 years. It was discovered in 2002 in original condition throughout. It must be the most original TZ one in existence as it still has its original body, bonnet, doors, etc. The original engine was not with the car but soon found and reunited with its original body.

This TZ1 was inspected by the FIA and its provenance has been verified prior to restoration. This TZ1 is supplied with its original engine although it is not currently installed. The original engine has been rebuilt to original 160 hp specifications with zero miles since rebuild, it has never been installed in the car. It was rebuilt by Ellegi Motori in Italy.

The engine currently in the car has recently been rebuilt. This TZ1 is currently owned by an Autosport Designs, Inc. client, it is being offered for sale due to his wanting to slim down his currently collection.

This is a rare opportunity to own what may be the finest Alfa Romeo TZ1 available with excellent history and certainly eligible for some of the finest vintage automobile events I the world.
