EDITORIAL
It was all jolly good fun at last weekend’s Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone, with wonderful English summer weather (at last), some great cars and very civilised company. Not only did I have the chance of a few laps from the back seat of a pre-War 4 ½ Litre, but one of the races was enlivened by the entry of a totally standard Continental GT, possible the model’s first racing appearance.
It didn’t half go, and it would be an interesting sight to see a grid of totally standard road cars from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini et al to see who came out on top.
Next week is the extravaganza that is Monterey and Pebble Beach. We’ve a preview of the events and hope to give you all the news of the racing, concours and auctions in ClassicInsides to come.
