Editorial

It’s a big birthday for Ferrari this year and the Italian company intends celebrating it in the best possible manner with a relay race spanning the globe that will bring together customers, their cars and the many adoring fans worldwide.

So in 2006 there will be the RM Auctions in association with Sotheby’s sale at Maranello in May, followed by the end of the relay on the 24th June, the climax of a three day concours d’elegance in their home town, another first for Ferrari.

Exciting stuff.

A nice way to travel there would of course (assuming the 275GTB wasn’t ready from its restoration…) be in a BMW M5 Touring, the launch of which was announced this week by the Bavarian marque. And the good news for buyers in the UK is that it’s available in RHD, something never offered before.

If the editorial jury’s still out on the styling, there’s no denying the fantastic combination of power and practicality - but I’d still prefer the (albeit smaller) Audi RS4 Avant.

We’ve made some changes to the way the Cars for Sale are shown on Classic Driver, with a greater number of larger photos. You can see the way the layout looks on our three featured cars below, do take time to explore the car database further, we’re sure you’ll like it.
